As a user researcher, the primary goal for the user research was to understand what a given target audience found irritating about the current Department of Homeland Security website, and to assess the site’s strengths, so there was a clearly defined direction to take the redesign process moving forward.
Research Objective
To kick the project off, it was found necessary to discover what kind of information someone like Marlen was hoping to obtain from a website like the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The research objective offered a good entry point to begin working on the research for the redesign.
